Dr. Bindeswar Prasad Lekhak has served as the Consul-General of Nepal to Hong Kong and Macao SARs since 29 May 2025.

Dr. Lekhak joined the Nepal Civil Service in 2006. He has served as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held various senior positions at the Ministry of Finance among others. He has a wide range of experiences, from managing foreign aid to foreign trade and customs operations and economic diplomacy.

Dr. Lekhak obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in 2024 specialising in foreign aid and economic development. He has a post-graduate degree in International Relations from Waseda University and an MBA degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Dr. Lekhak has been included in the Highest Honour List at Waseda University and has also published numerous academic works in esteemed peer-reviewed international journals.

He is fluent in English, Nepali and Hindi. He likes to travel, engage in spiritual pursuits and spend time with his family.
